WoW Leveling Guides Overview

There are lots of different World of Warcraft leveling guides out there, so WoW Players Guides as set up to guide you to the right choice for you.

My current top picks for guides is the Team iDemise Alliance leveling guide if you are trying to level an Alliance character and the Zygor Horde leveling guide if you have a Horde character. Zygor has an Alliance guide as well, but I personally prefer the Team iDemise guide because I think it is quicker to work with. But you might prefer Zygor. Just check out both reviews before making a decision.

The classic guides and the ones that started it all are Joana's Horde leveling guide. Joana's guide is still a great guide, primarily because of the video follow-along which lets you see it in action. However, if you don't care about video and wouldn't watch it, grab Zygor. I think it is also a bit cheaper than Joana's at this point.

As for Brian Kopp's original Alliance guide. Admittedly, it is a good guide and I gave it a great review here because it was the first one I ever looked at, but while it is updated to keep up with levels as Blizzard adds them, he hasn't significantly revamped it ever.

All of these various leveling guides are designed by players who generally do speed runs through World of Warcraft, essentially competing with themselves to beat their best times. They are ideal guides for solo players and players who want to power through levels. If you want to stop and do every instance, then you'll probably want to stray from their step-by-step instruction on how to level up, but they are so packed with information about their respective factions (Horde or Alliance) that I think they are useful even to the casual gamer who is just tired of the frustration of grinding. These guides focus almost entirely on questing which is a much more enjoyable way to play WoW.
