WoW Players Guides

The first gold guide exposing some of the secrets of the gold farmers who actually only play World of Warcraft in order to sell the gold that they make was Derek's Gold Guide. Now we have a new guide from a player who says he actually used to be one of these gold sellers (heck, maybe he still is!) His name is Wayne Williams and he's just started selling a guide named Warcraft Wealth.

Now honestly, I don't know if Wayne Williams really is or was a gold seller or if that just so happens to be a uniquely successful method of hyping a gold guide, but I did go ahead and get a copy of his guide because I'm always looking for new ways to get gold faster and I like to see other people's angles on how they accomplish things while playing World of Warcraft.

So what do I think of the Warcraft Wealth Guide?

All hype aside, I think Wayne's Warcraft Wealth is pretty good and comes with a great set of bonuses that will really help new players in particular. In addition to the Wealth guide itself, Wayne has also put together a set of Auction House videos that show you exactly how he works the Auction House to increase his gold supply. Think of it as an AH walkthrough.

The other bonus that I found particularly helpful is the Mining Maps walkthroughs which covers all of the mining regions in WoW. It means a quick run through if I feel like mining and I don't have to waste my time with areas that aren't going to pay off.

And finally, the third bonus, which is where you should actually start if you are new to playing World of Warcraft -- that's the WoW Basics guide. This is a 41 page guide that Wayne has put together for players who are still in the noob stage or feel like they never really figured out some of the basics. So if you're just thinking about starting to play World of Warcraft or you've maybe been playing for a couple of months and still feel pretty lost, then I recommend picking up Wayne's Wealth Guide and making the WoW Basics guide the first one you read. Once you understand the concepts that Wayne is sharing, then you can move onto the main guide which has more advanced strategies for amassing gold.

The main guide clocks in at 56 pages and includes specifics on where to find gold and Wayne is very generous with the screen caps so you can see exactly where you need to be. While 56 pages may not seem like a lot compared to some of the other gold guides out there, don't forget that the bonuses will add significantly to the page count.

For example, the Basics guide is 41 pages and that has a lot of gold tips in it as well. The two guides together are a really good overview of the whole gold-making process. And as far as getting your money's worth, for some players I think the mining maps and auction house videos alone will make the package a "must buy" -- never mind getting all this other stuff too! All in all, it's a great deal.
