There are plenty of guides available on the internet that will tell you where to grind and quest to get to 80 fast. But, there are a lot of tips that they may not cover that is costing you time. It’s all the little things that add up to wasted time that are really slowing you down, and not questing or actually leveling itself.

One of the biggest tips for leveling is to make sure you work out a “route” of how you want to level. Some people may choose to map out what levels they want to spend in certain areas before moving on, so they know exactly where they should be to level. By planning, you can also figure out the best times to head back to town to get new skills. This leads to the next big point.

Plan out your travel to minimize the time that is spent leveling. Spending time on a flight path or riding your mount to a new city is wasting precious leveling time. Figure out before hand what levels you need to go back to get your skills. If you’re always flying back and forth between where you’re leveling and your job trainer, you’re going to spend several more hours over the length of leveling just watching yourself travel. So…..

Plan ahead. If the skills you would get at the next level aren’t important, skip them for now. Wait another couple of levels until you get important upgrades or new abilities before rushing to a trainer. Figure out what you need before going to a zone. Sometimes you may need a crafted piece to help with a quest (I’m talking about you, Un’Goro Crater). So make sure you have what you need to complete the quests in your area before you head out there. Pick up every quest in an area. With the new quest tracker, you can figure out the quickest way to run through quests. You might be in an area anyways to complete a quest. Do an extra one nearby and add several thousand experience to your total with just a few extra minutes.
